Saint Lucia’s latest celebrity, Chef Nina Compton, has been making waves worldwide by cooking her way up the ladder of ‘Top Chef New Orleans – a hit TV show on Bravo.
In an effort to demonstrate its support, two of Bay Gardens Resorts’ leaders decided to pay Compton a special visit, bringing the properties’ warmth along with them.
Last week, at Scarpetta Restaurant in Miami where Compton runs the kitchen, Sanovnik Destang, executive director of Bay Gardens Resorts and Berthia Parle, general manager of the Bay Gardens Beach Resort and Spa, spent some one-on-one time with Chef Compton.
“I’ve been watching this season of Top Chef since the beginning,” said Sanovnik, “I was proud to see a fellow Saint Lucian showing off her skills to the world and was adamant that our organisation show its support. We began by making posts on our Facebook page to help hype her up and we even created a tribute ‘Go Nina Go’ graphic with the Saint Lucian flag that went viral. It was important to us that Nina and her fans know that Saint Lucia supports her 100 percent of the way.”
Having already beaten out 14 other contestants, it’s no wonder why the judges rave about Compton’s food; and both Sanovnik and Berthia couldn’t agree more.
“I cannot emphasize how phenomenal the food was that Nina prepared for us at Scarpetta,” commented Senator Parle, “No matter what happens in the competition, she should be proud. Not only is she extremely talented but she has grown to become a wonderful role model for Saint Lucians looking to achieve their own goals.”
As the nail-biting season finale approaches and Compton continues to soar through the competition, Bay Gardens continues to illustrate its support by hosting a special Happy Hour in her honour.
“This Wednesday, January 22, we’ll be having another ‘Top Chef Happy Hour’ at Cinnamon Bar inside the Bay Gardens Hotel at 10:30 pm,” said Waltrude Patrick, general manager of the Bay Gardens Hotel & Inn, “We strongly encouraged Saint Lucian’s to join us and our guests in cheering Nina on. Drinks will be on special at two for the price of one.”
In this week’s episode of Top Chef New Orleans, Chef Nina Compton will be facing Carlos Gaytan, Shirley Chung and Nicholas Elmi in the battle to acquire the Top Chef title and bragging rights. Let’s see who will carry forward!
