PRESS RELEASE – The St Jude Hospital was the beneficiary of another cheque donation from Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa. The donation cheque was handed over to the CEO of St Jude Dr. Chierry Poyotte by Vice President of Hotel Operations, Mr. Karl Hallberg and President of the Coconut Bay Sports & Social Committee, Ms. Leona Constable during a short presentation ceremony.
The cheque hand-over was held ahead of the commencement of the weekly charity Rubber Duck Race which is mainly geared towards raising funds in support of the medical institution.
The cheque amounting to EC $10, 000 was the first of others expected for this year as part of a Memorandum of Understanding between the hotel and St Jude Hospital. This latest presentation brought the total donated to St Jude Hospital to date to EC $60, 000.
Coconut Bay Vice President of Hotel Operations, Mr. Karl Hallberg in his comments during the ceremony provided reassurance of the hotel’s continuing support. He explained: “We are keen in ensuring that the hospital remains viable and that its operations are consistent with approved standards”. “We look forward eagerly to the return of St Jude to its original site so that its operations can be managed at maximum efficiency”.
