PRESS RELEASE – An Industrial Memorandum of Understanding (IMOU) between officials from Secure St. Lucia Ltd. and the National Workers Union (NWU) was signed at the Department of Labour on April 1, 2016.
This IMOU now paves the way for Secure St. Lucia Ltd. to pay out eighty percent of seven hundred and fifty six thousand dollars owed (80% of $756,000) to its employees as compensation for overtime worked and not paid effective August 2012.
The payments will be made in accordance with the company’s cash flow position and workers will be paid in full rather than in portions. The period over which the compensation will be disbursed also forms part of the Understanding.
The NWU is pleased that this matter is resolved without workers having to participate in any form of protest action. The NWU pledges to work with the security firm in its commitment to the continued growth of the company.
