PRESS RELEASE – CIBC FirstCaribbean’s business banking clients and clients of the Small Business Development Centre were treated to a business workshop, entitled MSE Mind Your Business which provided information on how small businesses can not only survive but thrive.
The group of business owners received information from the Small Business Development Centre (SBDC), BDCFO and CIBC FirstCaribbean.
Jonathan Allain, Business Development Officer of the SBDC, gave detailed insight of the services the centre offers and how they benefit small business owners from start-up through all the development phases of their businesses.
“It’s always great to have opportunities to educate small business owners on practices that will ensure business success and we thank CIBC FirstCaribbean for their contribution towards facilitating this workshop,” Mr. Allain noted.
Interested persons can contact the SBDC at the 4th Floor of the Heraldine Rock Government Building to avail themselves of the centre’s free services.
Barrington Dolcie, Chief Executive Officer of BDCFO, a business development and accounting consultancy, providing financial management support to several local businesses, presented on the benefits of proper record-keeping and financial management which was well received by all participants.
CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Business Banking Officers who specifically work with small business clients were present along with manager at the bank’s Vieux Fort banch, Lester Wilson, who gave a presentation on how the bank can assist small businesses in overcoming challenges.
He described some common problems unique to entrepreneurs and provided a detailed list of Cash Management Products and Credit Solutions to assist with mitigating some of those issues.
The small business workshop will be repeated in Vieux Fort at a later date.
