PRESS RELEASE -
Residential customers with Columbus Communications St. Lucia Limited, operators of the brand Flow, will soon have the fastest speeds in the country with download speeds of up to 100 mpbs and upload speeds of up to 10 mpbs, all at no additional cost.

This announcement was made last Thursday, July 10, 2014 when Columbus St. Lucia officially launched operations with a cocktail function held at St. James Club, Morgan Bay, themed “One People, One Passion, One Purpose, which hosted Government officials that included Senator the Honourable Dr. James Fletcher, Minister of Public Service, Information and Broadcasting Minister for Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, who issued the Key Note address, key members of the private sector as well as other stakeholders and members of the media.

Speaking to these unprecedented announcements, Mrs. Rhea Yaw Chang, corporate vice president of sales and marketing, Columbus, stated: “Today, I want to reiterate our commitment that we stand as your partners to make the journey with you. This commitment is the Columbus way.”

“As we introduce our products and services, our commitment is to create an enabling environment that provides a strategic technology platform that integrates people, information and ideas. In every country that we have entered, we challenge the norms on what was defined to be broadband. We shake up the industry’s historical pricing regime to provide every household with a new value proposition forcing incumbents to raise their game, improving both the quantity and quality of products and services, and systematically reducing prices on products and services,” she continued.

According to country manager, Mr. Jesse Edwards, “In less than a year over, 7 communities in the St. Lucia market are able to access these super-fast and reliable broadband services, with maximum internet download speeds increasing from 1.1 mbps to a whopping 100mbps. I am now excited to announce that these super-fast speeds will now be available island-wide to the homes, from August 1, 2014. This is another first in St. Lucia”.

Columbus St. Lucia is already on the verge of creating historic moments only after one year in the market, under the Karib Cable brand, as Flow broadband customers, who currently subscribe for 1.1mbps will be upgraded to Turbo 2, and customers who currently enjoy 2.2, 3.3 and 4.4 packages respectively will automatically enjoy double their download bandwidth and increased  upload speeds, at no additional cost.

He also revealed that Columbus’ video customers within the conversion areas would also experience the many benefits of Flow’s digital video service, with flexible and affordable packages to suit their varied entertainment needs and pockets, with enhanced digital picture and sound quality, advanced Parental Control capabilities and Interactive On-Screen TV Guide.

He said testing was well underway to launch these and even more anticipated advanced services to Flow customers, as the company looks to provide access to Video on Demand and Cloud Personal Video Recording services with Cloud Storage capabilities.
