PRESS RELEASE - Digicel is joining forces with the Royal St. Lucia Police Force this Carnival season to bring about the ever popular “Kaiso Headquarters”.

When thinking of the Royal St Lucia Police Force, thoughts are usually of them in traditional roles, being highly trained, ready to fulfill their mandate to “protect and serve”. However, with this year’s event being held, the Police Restaurant Yard will come alive with a fun-filled, competitive atmosphere, where members of the Force will trade in their traditional arms for “musical instruments and melodic voices” to entertain as they display their musical talent resident among the constabulary.

The aim of this event is to allow the police officers to relax in a stress-free environment, have fun and be a part of the carnival festivities while fulfilling their higher calling to protect and serve and also community policing. The event will indeed be a spectacular show when the reigning police calypso monarch will defend her title against 16 other participants.

Stephanie Henry “Red Ants” (Crime Department), Cabinus Pierre-Louis “Illusionist” (Traffic Unit), Sabrina Mangal “Siwo” (CID Vieux Fort), Gloria Edwin “Queen Molasses” (Police Control Room), Alden Raphael “Spoiler” (Gros Islet Police Station), Robin Samuel “Ricochet” (Micoud Police Station), Andrad Felix “High Tower” (Police Band), Gilroy Gaston “Gilo” (Traffic Unit), Andre Regis “De Enforcer” (Traffic Unit), Jayhan Narcisse “Sprata Pra” (Police Band), Dennie Marshall “Di Martial” (Police band), Melissa James “Slayer” (Police Control Room), Zachary Hippolyte “Zach” (Research and Development), Merlissa Lamontagne “Babyluv” (Beat and Patrol), Marva Epiphane “Epee” (Soufriere Police Station), Nyasa Francis “Mooshi” (Uniform task Force).

According to Constable Dyson Imbert, events coordinator, “The Royal St. Lucia Police Force is very pleased to have Digicel’s full support for the seventh year of this highly anticipated event and would like to express heartfelt thanks for their continued support.”

“Digicel has recognised the significance of this initiative, not only of its importance on the national carnival landscape but its overall objective of improving community policing and are pleased to support the Kaiso Headquarters Police Calypso Show to be held on July 12, 2014,” said Leslie Collymore, head of marketing at Digicel.

The police force has plans to continue to make this an annual event and Digicel also has high expectations that this year’s Kaiso Headquarters will be Extraordinary!
