PM Chastanet addressing the forum
(SNO) – A hospitality management school based in Switzerland will open in Saint Lucia as early as next year, Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has announced.
He said the École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) will open its doors in 2020.
Chastanet described the institution as the best hospitality school in the world.
“This school helps prepare students for senior international positions in the field of Tourism/Hospitality,” he stated.
He said the announcement for the opening of the school on the island was made at the Saint Lucia Investment Forum and Welcome Party at the Royal Saint Lucia Turf Club in Vieux Fort last Thursday evening.
It was organized by the DSH Group in collaboration with the Government of Saint Lucia.
“The event saw approximately 100 High profile investors from across the Caribbean, the United States, the United Kingdom and Asia participate and exposed to the visionary plans and projects which are happening across our beautiful island,” Chastanet explained. “These include the Pearl of the Caribbean, the new Hewanorra International Airport, the Cruiseship homeport in Vieux Fort and the redevelopment of Anse de Sables among several others.”
He said his government will be giving further details on the project, which according to him “will significantly benefit Saint Lucia.”
