Capella Hotels and Resorts (CHR) has assumed management of Discovery Hotel at Marigot Bay after it was acquired by an international development group.
CHR, which manages ultra-luxury hotels in Singapore, Pedregal, Mexico and Washington, said it is pleased to add Discovery to its portfolio of “award-winning hotels and resorts.”
In a press release, Horst Schulze, Chairman and CEO of CHR spoke of plans for the establishment.
“We will begin instilling the Capella service philosophy into the property immediately. Additionally, extensive renovations will begin shortly, which we expect to complete by mid next year when it will be branded Capella Marigot Bay. The resort and world class marina will remain fully operational during this time frame,” he said.
Described as a veteran of Capella Hotels, Seán Carney who arrived on island is set to serve as interim general manager of the resort.
Discovery currently features 124 rooms which include 57 suites with their own private plunge pools, spacious balconies and extensive sea views.
“ The property is also home to the ultra-exclusive Capella Marina at Marigot Bay which accommodates some of the most luxurious mega yachts in the world,” the release said.
