PRESS RELEASE - On Thursday, April 9 2015, The Saint Lucia Trade Export Promotion Agency’s (TEPA’s) National Export Council (NEC) will convene a meeting with OECS Director General Dr. Didacus Jules and delegates from the Economic Development Unit (EDU) based in Dominica.
This meeting is scheduled for 10am at the offices the OECS Secretariat, Morne Fortune, Castries.
TEPA contends that given the important role that the OECS Secretariat plays in advancing development and trade especially through the work of the Economic Development Unit, the NEC will meet with Dr. Jules to:
1. Discuss OECS-EDU’s mandate
2. Explore opportunities for enhancing the level of assistance to exporters of goods and services of small-medium exporters
3. Consider avenues for pursuing common goals and objectives.
The NEC is also particularly interested in discussing how TEPA and the OECS Secretariat-EDU can work together so that exporters harness some of the perceived benefits of operation within the OECS Single Economy.
TEPA CEO Jacqueline Emmanuel-Flood says that “Given the commonality of efforts of the two organisations, where exporters are concerned, it is crucial that through support and collaboration, we achieve maximum success and minimum duplication”.
