PRESS RELEASE - Country Manager of the Bank of Nova Scotia, Mr. Chester Hinkson has been appointed to serve as Chairman of the Government Negotiating Team (GNT).
Consistent with the announcement that the Government of Saint Lucia would accede to the request by public sector unions to activate the GNT, all arrangements have been made to begin the two week process, once unions and associations agree.
Prior to his departure to Antigua and Barbuda last week, Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony met with Mr. Hinkson to discuss the appointment as Chairman of the GNT.
During the Cabinet Meeting held on Monday, July 7, 2014, the recommendation was discussed and a decision was taken to appoint Mr. Hinkson.
Mr. Hinkson, who has served in various capacities at the Bank of Nova Scotia locally, regionally and internationally, has also served as the President of the Bankers Association and the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. He has served as a director of the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Bankers, a member of the Salaries Review Commission for senior civil servants in St. Lucia and is currently the President of the Rotary Club of St. Lucia.
In January 2014, Mr. Chester Hinkson won the Corporate Leadership Award at the annual Saint Lucia Business Awards.
