Renwick & Company’s Garden Centre gives back to agricultural community

PRESS RELEASE -
On Tuesday, July 1, 2014, Renwick & Company Ltd’s Garden Centre provided the agricultural community with agricultural products valued at over EC$80,000 at a presentation ceremony held at its conference room.

Renwick & Company Ltd., through partnerships with its suppliers Renwick Duwest Incorporated and Premium Fertilizer, agents for Fersan fertilisers, presented agricultural products to several farmer groups, Inter American Institute for Co-op on Agriculture (IICA), the Ministry of Agriculture and individual farmers, as part of relief efforts following the significant losses suffered by the agriculture sector’s during the 2013 Christmas Eve trough.

Representatives of the National Fair Trade Organization, Belle Vue Farmers Cooperative, Grace Farmers Group, Black Bay Farmers Cooperative, Ministry of Agriculture, IICA and local farmers, were present at the ceremony to receive products such as Fersan fertiliser, Vydate applicators, Miracle Gro, Quick Sol, personal protective equipment and cutlasses.

“We at Renwick & Company Ltd. firmly believe that agriculture is one of our core businesses and we are therefore very pleased to assist the agricultural community during this difficult period. The farming community has and continues to patronise the Garden Centre through the years and we felt it necessary to help them rebuild following the devastation caused by the Christmas Eve trough,” said Decosta Pierre, manager of the Garden Centre, Renwick & Company Ltd.

The representatives from the agricultural community expressed their gratitude for the products received and indicated that these products will assist them in resuming full scale commercial production.

Renwick & Company Ltd. continues to support areas which were severely affected following the passage of the Christmas Eve Trough.

Recently, Renwick & Company Ltd. donated relief items to the Bexon Primary, Bexon Infant and the Canaries Infant schools.
