PRESS RELEASE - The employer has brought to the attention of the Police Welfare Association (PWA) the number of fiscal challenges that they are facing currently.

Whilst the PWA has not been in a position to make its own financial audit of the position brought forward by the employer, there is need for individual adjustments of the members of the PWA.

It is the advice of the President and the Central Committee of the PWA that in the short to medium term, that its members make the following personal adjustments to weather the projected financial forecast brought forward by the employer.

1. Cease spending on non-essentials
2. Consider carpooling
3. Consider the option of the Police Credit Union rather than other financial institutions

Currently, various committees are being ratified to act as a buffer for the members. The option of the Police Co-operative Supermarket, revamping the Police canteen, and many other non-profit-making initiatives including some non-profit-making services, are being considered.

We are also calling on our sister organisations, such as the Bordelais Correctional Association, the Fire Service Association and the Nurses Association, to partner with us and consider our three short-term goals.

Let us be united to weather the forecasted storm.
