PRESS RELEASE - For the 18th consecutive year, the ECFH Group is giving sound support to the St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival through the sponsorship of Main Stage Jazz, Soufriere Creole Jazz and Jazz in the South. This unbroken partnership reflects the Group’s continued commitment to the socio-economic development of St. Lucia through the arts.
ECFH is also a major sponsor of the CDF-organised National Arts Festival – ArtReach – which encompasses the Literary, Visual and Performing Arts. The Group recognises the potential of St. Lucia’s creative industries as a major contributor to the growth and development of the national economy.
Through its main subsidiary Bank of Saint Lucia, ECFH supports the 2014 St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival both financially and through the provision of services at major festival venues. For another consecutive year Bank of Saint Lucia will be bringing the convenience of core banking services to main-stage Jazz with its signature Quick Cash Convenience Centre.

At the recent launch of Soufriere Creole Jazz, Manager of the BOSL Soufriere Branch, Arleta Rati Michel said: “We see great merit in supporting Jazz at the community level. BOSL has been in the Soufriere Community for over 25 years with a long track record of programmes and activities such as Creole Jazz which not only showcase and seek to develop the immense talent of our St. Lucian communities but also provide much welcomed economic activity.”
In accepting the cheque, Chairman of the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation, Walter Francois, thanked BOSL for investing in Soufriere Creole Jazz and assured all present that the funds will be “well spent and redound to the benefit of the people of Soufriere.”
Soufriere Creole Jazz at the Soufriere Mini Stadium on May 1 features the band EvaLucian with Arthur Allain, Soufriere Action Theatre, Shayne Ross, Ronald Boo Hinkson and legendary Zouk ambassadors Kassav.
Jazz in the South at the Rudy John Beach on May 4 features Jacques Schwarz Bart and Jazz Racine Haiti, Gregory Pivat and the Children of Cyparis, Erol Josue, Etienne Charles, Shomari Maxwell, Wendell Richards
BOSLs support of the Festival also focuses heavily on the educational component which includes master classes for budding musicians, as well as youth dance and music workshops.
