The 2014 Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival is marked to truly be an extraordinary event. Digicel officially pledged its financial support for Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival to the Saint Lucia Tourist Board at the Official Sponsors Cheque Presentation Ceremony held on April 2 at the St. James’ Club Morgan Bay.

As the days draw nearer for the platform where St Lucia’s rich musical, creative and cultural heritage will be highlighted along with world renowned performers, the Saint Lucia Tourist Board hosted its official cheque presentation ceremony to thank new and repeat sponsors.

John Emmanuel, Public Relations Manager for the SLTB, signaled the start to the event with a warm welcome followed by the emphasis on the importance of sponsors investing in the success of national events such as the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival. He was grateful for the commitment and continued interest showed by existing repeat sponsors as well as the introduction of new corporate sponsors.

Digicel’s Country Manager Holly Hughes-McNamara said, “Digicel, as the platinum sponsor for the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival is happy to once again partner with the Tourist Board. The incorporation of local artistes and performers in this exciting world renowned music festival is a step in the right direction as this provides them with an avenue to showcase and highlight their extraordinary talents.

This being Digicel’s sixth year as platinum sponsors of the Jazz festival, speaks to our ongoing commitment to provide support to national events and by extension the people of Saint Lucia. Digicel is also providing support to community events across the island: Jazz in the South, coordinated by Labowi Promotions, Jazz on the Grill at the Fire Grill restaurant in Rodney Bay, Jazz on the Bay at Marigot, Tea Time Jazz at La Place Carenage and RCI’s Black Tie Jazz Party, as a further testimony of our pledge to the people of Saint Lucia”.

The 12-day music and arts festival will run from April 30 to May 11, 2014 bringing with it a burst of energy, flair and St Lucian heritage, felt and seen through dance, fashion, pan, visual art, poetry, song and theatrical presentations. This natural fusion of the arts and jazz will create the right mood and experience for the patrons as this cultural bouyon will have everyone asking for more at this year’s show.
