Soufriere Soup Kitchen

This donation comes just one month after the superstore presented almost $20,000 worth of Courts products, groceries and water to residents of Anse La Raye, Bexon and Canaries who were identified by NEMO as being in dire need of assistance after the Christmas Eve/ Christmas Day trough.

NEMO accepted a formal letter from the president of the organization Percival McDonald which outlined the hardships faced by committee members who were working with limited resources and needed a new cooker to perform their day to day duties more effectively.

The special committee responsible for the management of the soup kitchen provides an average of 60 meals per day to the poor within Soufriere and environs. This initiative undertaken by the management of the committee focuses primarily on poverty alleviation and targets poverty stricken residents of the community.

“At Courts, we try our best to improve the quality of life of our employees and the people in the communities where we operate. We take our responsibility as corporate leaders extremely seriously and operate through programs that will impact the social, cultural, economic and environmental matters affecting our nation. The benefits derived from our donations are endless and of paramount importance to us. The recognition we receive cannot compare to the fact that we continue to make a significant difference in St. Lucia, impacting lives, changing futures and developing talents,” Courts said in a release.
