Under the theme, “Redefining Partnership: School and Optimal Haven,” the National Principal’s Association of St. Lucia’s will hold its Annual Education Conference from today, February 6-7, 2014.
The forum will feature two panel discussions on February 7. The first will be done by personnel from the department of human services, a representative from the Community Relations Branch of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, a clinical psychologist, and a special needs officer from the ministry of education.
The second panel will see deliberations on the conference’s theme against the backdrop of the information which came out of the first session. This will be used to provide a framework for policy in relation to and addressing the psycho-social wellness, deficiencies and needs of Saint Lucian schools.
Among those sitting on the second panel will be the chief education officer, an education expert from CARICOM, principal of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and president of the Saint Lucia Teachers’ Union.
The conference will be held at the Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa, in Vieux Fort under the patronage of the Governor General Dame Pearlette Louisy.
A ceremonial opening will start at 3 p.m. on February 6.
