Boriel
A well-known businessman from the south of the island is now battling for life in hospital after he was beaten by a group of men at a cockfight venue in La Tourney, Vieux Fort around midnight.
Dave Boriel of New Dock Road, Vieux Fort is now in critical condition at Tapion Hospital with serious head injuries.
Reports are that around 1:00 this morning, Feb. 1, Boriel is alleged to have been ganged by four men from Marc, Bexon. A hammer was also used to inflict injuries to Boriel’s head.
The attack allegedly stemmed from an earlier altercation with one of the suspects whom Boriel is accused of “slapping”. It is further alleged that Boriel eventually apologised.
A relative of the victim said a CT scan on Boriel’s brain has shown swelling, bleeding and pieces of bone matter.

Boriel is known to have been or still involved in several businesses, including real estate, trucking and heavy equipment.
Police are now searching for the four suspects.
