(PRESS RELEASE) – Officials from the Leadership of the National Workers Union (NWU) and representatives from Government Negotiating Team met at the Conference Room of the Ministry of the Public Service Tuesday November 26, 2019.
The parties affixed their signatures to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) document. This makes it possible for Government to pay out eight hundred dollars ($800.00) before Christmas 2019 to members of the NWU Bargaining Unit.
That amount will be paid out to all the Daily Paid workers, Community Health Aides, Watchmen, Constituency Councils and non established workers as well as St. Jude Hospital and all other government workers who fall within the National Workers Union (NWU) Bargaining Unit.
In an effort to conclude an industrial package for two trienniums, the NWU has committed to sending in a document by December 5, 2019. Should all go well the NWU will sign off on the said industrial package.
