(PRESS RELEASE) – As part of the schedule to ensure that CARIFORUM States are positioned to finalize a Trade Agreement with the United Kingdom (UK) by the end of 2018, the Secretary-General of CARIFORUM, following consultations with representatives of the UK Government and the Chair of CARIFORUM (Saint Lucia), will convene the Fifth Meeting of CARIFORUM Senior Officials on the Exit of the UK from the EU on Thursday, September 27, 2018, from 9:00a.m. at Harbor Club.
CARIFORUM Senior Officials have had four (4) formal technical meetings on the subject and have had one (1) Joint Meeting with Senior UK Trade Officials on the subject. This fifth technical Meeting of Senior Officials will continue to focus on the preparatory work required to finalize a CARIFORUM/UK Trade Agreement by the end of 2018.
