(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – In 2019 SAINT LUCIA will celebrate 40 years of independence.
To keep the observance of our legacy alive the Department of Culture and the Independence Committee have commenced preparation for the nation showcase.
The 2019 celebration showcase will be decentralized, engaging, inspirational, and sustainable, must have a lasting legacy and video appeal.
Minister for Culture Sen. Hon. Fortuna Belrose stated that 40 years is a major milestone and that the showcase must be unmatched.
“Next year Saint Lucia will be celebrating 40 years of Independence and as a country we need to showcase it in a lasting Legacy. We need to have the programmes decentralized due to feedback received from the 2018 celebration. The focus is to engage people as we move forward.”
The theme for the 40th Independence Anniversary Celebration is ‘Proud to be Saint Lucian’.
