(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – Resulting from negotiations that started at the beginning of 2017, Windward and Leeward Brewery Ltd. (WLBL) today signed two collective bargaining agreements with the National Workers Union (NWU).
The agreements which are for both Du Boulay’s Bottling Company (DBC) and WLBL, concluded in December 2017 and March 2018 for each of the aforementioned entities.
“We are elated that the collective bargaining agreement negotiations have come to a successful conclusion. We were able to secure the DBC agreement from October 2016 to September 2019 and for WLBL from January 2018 to December 2020. This agreement highlights our commitment to our employees in ensuring that we provide a healthy work environment and continuously implement strategies that fosters a culture of employee motivation and development. So congratulations to the teams for working together to realize this achievement” stated Oscar Garcia, Managing Director.
In attendance for this momentous signing was Dunstan Du Boulay – Board Member WLBL/DBC, Oscar Garcia – Managing Director WLBL/DBC, Erik Hammer – HR Manager WLBL/DBC, Mr. Narcisse – Labour Commissioner, Jason McDoom – Shop steward WLBL, Ninian Blasse – Shop steward DBC, Mr. Maynard – President General NWU, Ms. Mayers -Deputy President General NWU and Mr. Harewood General Secretary of the NWU.
“Both companies have had a long standing relationship with NWU and by working proactively with them, we have been able to come to this agreement that will continue to benefit all employees and ensure that we are a preferred employer in St. Lucia.
