PRESS RELEASE – Upon receiving information from the Ministry of Health and Wellness on March 21st 2017, relating to the wholesomeness of corned beef imported from Brazil, Massy Stores conducted an inventory check of Massy Stores Supermarket, Gourmet, Mega and the warehouse.
As instructed by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, we have removed the product off our shelves at our Massy Stores Supermarket, Gourmet and Mega.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness has also stated that they, and the local agencies will continue to work with the Brazilian Authorities with a view to ensuring that this matter is resolved satisfactorily in the interest of health and public safety.
In the meantime, The Ministry has also advised consumers to refrain from the consumption of corned beef from Brazil until further notice.
We await the ruling of the Ministry of Health and Wellness for further action on this matter.
