The company has announced a collaboration with the Curriculum and Materials Development Unit in the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development, in support of the 2017 edition of the Technology Integration Teacher Training Programme.
Over 200 educators, including teachers, principals and other education professionals from public and private schools around the island, are expected to be enrolled in the programme. The online training component of the programme has already began and is being facilitated by the Organisation of the American States’ Educational Portal of the Americas.
Participants will be engaged in a series of online courses that include a six-week course in virtual tutoring, a five-week course in Leadership in Management of Innovation in Education, an eight-week course in Project Based Approaches and and another eight-week course in Collaboration in the Digital Classroom. A series of workshops on the use of the Google Classroom E-Learning platform in schools will get underway from March 17 at the UWI Open Campus, Morne Fortune.
Powered by the C&W Business solutions brand, Flow is also providing the educators with complimentary Wi-Fi hotspot service to deliver high-speed wireless Internet connectivity that allows educators/attendees to enjoy continuous, protected connectivity throughout the sessions.
Germain Anthony, Curriculum Specialist for Technology Integration, said, “We are delighted to be partnering with Flow for the programme and wish to thank them for the support. One of our policy aims is to see that more training and professional development activities such as this are made available to all teachers in an environment that makes learning easy and interesting while enabling them to reach students of all learning styles. We look forward to a very productive programme this year.”
Flow Saint Lucia acting Marketing & Communications Executive, Terry Finisterre said the company is extremely proud to be a part of the Ministry’s ICT Virtual Tutoring programme.

We firmly believe that Information and Mobile Communication Technology makes social change possible,” said Finisterre.
In October 2016 Flow unveiled its e-learning platform, Flow Study, an online portal to help Caribbean students better prepare for the CAPE and CSEC examinations. It offers access to a comprehensive range of educational materials, including exam strategies, past paper solutions, CyberPedia and virtual labs, that students can access from their smartphones, tablets or desktop computers. Students and parents can log on to www.flowid.co to get started, or download the Flow Study app on Android or Apple devices.
