PRESS RELEASE – Presentation of the Strategic Transformation Plan and Key initiatives was the focus of the General Meeting of the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce held on Thursday May 11, 2016.
The meeting commenced with the Executive Director’s announcement that 1st Vice President, Mr. Lanfraze Cherubin of WLBL, assumes the Presidency of the Chamber, with the departure of Mrs. Esther Brown-Weekes.
The Chamber’s Board has taken the approach of reviewing its current strategy and the detailed transformation plan was developed earlier this year at the Board retreat which was facilitated by Robert Wynter of Strategic Alignment Ltd. The strategy was developed following exploration of the current approaches and includes improved representation of The Membership. Originating from the process a number of changes to the existing Committee Structure of the Chamber has been implemented and a draft re-alignment plan developed.
The Chamber recognised that continuous review and adaptation of the process is critical to its success notwithstanding the importance of members’ contribution and involvement. The strategy was well received as attending members of The Chamber commended the board on this initiative which was the first of its kind.
Members look forward to the delivery of The Strategy and more active involvement. Those absent from this meeting will have an additional opportunity to discuss the plan as The Chamber intends to present to them at another forum.
