PRESS RELEASE – St Lucia’s gold medal craft brewery, Antillia Brewing Company, is excited to release two very special seasonal ales just in time for Jazz Festival.
Dancing Mammee Apricot Ale and Jazzed Up Zabwico Stout will both be available at the brewery in Rodney Bay starting this Friday. They are the latest releases in the brewery’s popular St. Lucian Specialty Series.
Both beers are brewed using fresh, local fruit from the mammee tree. “We were at the brewery brainstorming what local fruit to use in the next specialty beer and someone mentioned zabwico,” said Andrew Hashey, President, Antillia Brewing Company.
“It turn out that local apricot is the fruit of the mammee tree, zabwico in creole. Within days we had two bags full of the freshest, most delicious fruit on the island. With some experimentation the recipes were set and both the ale and the stout are incredibly complex and appetizing, with a hint of apricot on the nose and on the palate. The diversity of local agricultural products continues to amaze me. We are truly blessed to be able to brew on this island.”
Antillia Brewing Co. specializes in traditional, all natural ales. In addition to a lineup of traditional styles such as the Golden Ale, a wheat beer brewed for the Caribbean climate, Antillia brews a series of St. Lucian Specialty beers using local, fresh agricultural products.
Antillia Brewing Company is located in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet. The brewery specializes in hand crafted traditional ales, brewed for the tastes and climate of the Caribbean. The brewery maintains a tap room and offers tours of the brewery and a tasting of their award winning ales and sells one litre bottles for take home consumption.

Antillia Brewing Company opened in February 2015, with a vision of putting St. Lucia on the craft brewing map.
