Minibuses in Saint Lucia.
Members of the National Council on Public Transportation (NCOPT) met with Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony on Sunday evening where a number of issues were discussed.
Reports are that the NCOPT raised issues relating to difficulties they face with parking alongside the Phillip Marcellin Pavillion in Vieux Fort, among other things.
Dr. Anthony who is also the MP for Vieux Fort South said the minibus drivers also followed up on plans to construct a bus stand in the area, as well as toilet facilities.
It was noted during the meeting that exemptions were granted from the payment of route bands and vehicle licenses for a two year period.
The NCOPT members were briefed on the progress and promised that these issues will be resolved.
