PRESS RELEASE – Saint Lucia’s leading manufacturing company, Baron Foods Limited, has blazed a new trail with its products into Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean.
On Thursday, February 18, 2016, Baron Foods Limited shipped 2,200 cartons of the company’s award winning sauces and condiments to the French overseas department, which has a population of about one million persons.
The locally-based company has said that besides Réunion, one of its target markets for this year will be other Islands in the Indian Ocean.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Baron Foods Limited, Mr. Ronald Ramjattan, has recalled that his firm began negotiations in December, 2015, with a Réunion company by the name of I.M.A.
“Entry into this market was unchallenging as we met all of the requirements,” Mr. Ramjattan disclosed.
As to the reason for targeting the Indian Ocean Island, he explained that several of them have populations and cultures similar to those in the Caribbean.
The people of Réunion even speak French Creole.
The population includes a mix of Blacks, Indians and Whites who have a similar cuisine to that of the Caribbean, the Baron Foods Limited CEO observed, adding that hot sauces are quite popular with the locals of the Indian Ocean Islands.
Mr. Ramjattan noted that in the continuous quest to export sauces of a continued high quality and consistency, Baron Foods Limited is targeting countries with populations and cultures similar to the Caribbean such as Mexico, India and nations in Africa.
Over the years the locally-based company has exploded the myth that locally produced goods are not good and cannot be exported.
To date, Baron Foods Limited products are exported to over 25 countries all over the world.
Additionally, the company’s range of products has continuously won worldwide accolades and awards and are backed by international certificates to verify consistent quality.
