PRESS RELEASE – Print media workers employed with the Voice Publishing Company will now benefit from concluded negotiations between the company and the National Workers Union (NWU).
The parties agreed to a ten percent (10%) general wage increase spread over three (3) years to be distributed as 4%, 3% and 3% each year respectively.
During the discussions, the company made it clear that it could not afford any further increase provided for in the industrial agreement. As a result the NWU agreed to freeze and allow all existing fringe benefits to remain same during the upcoming three year period.
It is expected that the company and the NWU will meet with the Labour Commissioner at a later date to sign the new industrial agreement.
