PRESS RELEASE – On Tuesday 27th October 2015, the Windward and Leeward Brewery Ltd, in collaboration with the host organization, St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce hosted the first partners meeting in Vieux Fort.
The purpose of this meeting was to engage aspiring entrepreneurs and local businesses in order to chart the way forward for the staging of activities in the south of the island for GEW 2015. Participants were encouraged to connect and mentor at educational institutions, host an intern and be an inspiration to the youth.
During one week each November, thousands of events and competitions around the world inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors.
This year, from November 16 – 23, more than 30 local partner organizations will come together to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). During this week over 189 countries will champion the compass – the GEW logo – connecting millions of people around the world to a movement of entrepreneurial champions and advocates. Beyond providing that connection, the compass increases awareness of partner organizations and its leadership in promoting entrepreneurship in the community, the country and the world. Mr. Clinton Charlery of Charlery’s Holdings Ltd in pledging his support and contributing to the staging of GEW stated, “I am truly encouraged and keen to partner with initiatives aimed at promoting an environment which fosters the development of entrepreneurial behavior and sustenance of entrepreneurial activity in St Lucia”
The meeting in the south was indeed a success with partners embracing the GEW compass.
